Kenisha T. Syphertt is a two-time HBCU graduate, believer, experienced entrepreneur, dedicated mommy, coach, and passionate advocate for education and hair care. As a proud North Carolina Central University Eagle and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., she has always embraced leadership and service. After earning 1st Runner-Up for Miss NCCU, Kenisha was inspired to launch her first business, setting the stage for her entrepreneurial journey.

 

Fall 2016, while pursuing her graduate degree, she skillfully balanced multiple roles, working as an event manager at both Duke University and UNC. It was during this time that Detangled & Degreed was born—a brand that represents her dual passions for hair care and education. Detangled & Degreed was originally an apparel brand until God showed her d&d is more than just a business; it is a movement dedicated to promoting healthy hair care practices while emphasizing the power of education. Through this platform, Kenisha empowers individuals to embrace their natural beauty, learn the history and styling of their hair, and to invest in their personal and professional growth.

As a Master Loctician and a hair growth and hair loss specialist, Kenisha continues to expand her expertise in the beauty industry. She is deeply committed to mentoring young girls between the ages of 7-17, teaching them the importance of education and proper hair care. Her future goals include growing her mentorship programs, educating communities on holistic hair health, and continuing to break barriers as a successful entrepreneur and child of God. Kenisha Syphertt is not only building a legacy in business and beauty but also inspiring the next generation to be confident, educated, and fearless in their pursuits.

 

When Kenisha is not serving her community or spending time with her loved ones, you can probably find her listening to jazz music or doing her hair!
